Giggsy's Right foot wanted me to put up a post to find out what fans think of Ryan Giggs's illustrious career at Manchester United. Read this BBC Article here
Personally I think he is one of the greatest players to have graced Old Trafford. His unquestionable loyalty makes him a fans favourite. I remember him playing at 17 and he excited me as much back then as he does now, testament to his consistency as a player. Anyone remember THE goal against Arsenal? Sums him up really!
This is what Giggsy's right foot had to say:
Hi Agent,
could you create a post about the below article? If not I would love a discussion about the subject. As my name suggests, I am a massive Ryan Giggs fan. I have always felt that he has never got the recognition he deserved but his mature and extremely consistent play of late is starting to earn some acclaim.
I agree that he was perhaps a bit inconsistent in his early years, mainly due to his hamstrings! On his day, he always outshone the likes of Beckham. Yet it was Beckham who was always nominated for world player of the year, mainly for his popular appeal, in my opinion. Ryan is much more like Paul Scholes; they are both more talented than Beckham and happy just to get on with their 'job'.
Anyway, he appears to be an early candidate for footballer of the year, an award he has never won. Anyway, I would love to hear other united fans opinion on the player, I believe, is the best of his generation at United, and one of the best overall.
Please let us know what you guys think!

Simply the best left winger a football world has ever seen. A complete player. His pace, dribbling, close control, finishing are second to none.
Though I'm a huge fan, I think that for all his ability and for United's dominance of the premiership, Giggsy never made that final push to make himself the best player of his generation
A part of the reason may be he was prepared to play within himself, knowing that what he had was good enough to achieve his footballing ambitions ..
Crucially, I think the drive that makes great players into exceptional ones, is not in Ryan's make-up
Thanks for the post. Shame about the lack of response but we can come back to this at a later date if Giggsy continues this run of form.
Also, I am suddenly feeling a lot of optimism about both the immediate and long term future of united. The kids we have coming thru look better than I thought. If I'm honest, I thought only Rossi and Pique would make the grade, but the likes of Jonny Evans (was apparently great last night), Kieron Richardson and Darren Fletcher look pretty good now.
Also with the likes of Jones, Foster, Martin and Bardsley we look well set for the future. Also, the fact that players like O'Shea, Evra and Saha are stepping up their games we look good right now.
The next week will prove whether this optimism is warranted or not. If we take 9 points from the respective PL and CL games, we will put a lot of the other teams under pressure and the confidence will be hard to break. With Rooney and Scholes to come back in and Smithies return, well...
I agree i think the future is our "kids". I wouldn't worry about the lack of responses Giggsy, numbers are down whilst international are taking place. With the end of the transfer window, fans dont seem to be as hungry for news. I expect things to pick up a little next week when the premiership resumes and even more as the league and champs league develop!
The fantasy football league now has 19 members, so that is gonna be a lot of fun i think!
I don't agree about Fletcher. Yesterday he was playing against my country and even against very medicore opposition he looked very very poor:he was slow, his dribbling was horrible and he aws giving the ball away very often.
Fellow United fans: I've been very busy, and apologize for not posting recently, although when I do post, it's too late (I'm in the US at the moment, so you're all either asleep or discussing the next subject when my reply comes in. Ryan Giggs, however, deserves a reply, even if it is belated and remains unread.
I'm a huge fan of #11. HUGE. People talk of his age and 'inconsistency'. Obviously I wish he were younger, so he could play for United for more years. But I feel his football has gotten better and better. And better. I agree with the comparison to Scholes, and I would add Keane to that select group where a true football maturity is evident on the pitch. So many other players worldwide (and even in United) seem to get stuck in a plateu, while Giggs and the others I mentioned evolved and adapted, improving their weaknesses, and relying on their strengths. They also seem better at relying on their teammates strengths; I hope this makes sense.
I feel Giggs has always been the best left winger of his time. Robben isn't half as godd as Ryan at his age. His awareness is so amazing these days, that when he plays at the middle of the park, he's even more dangerous. Or when he's up front. The compliments are endless.
His loyalty to club and country is admired, and his influence on the younger players is evident, on and off the pitch. I personally believe he is a better Captain than Gary, but that's debatable, and it's not up to me. It's great to still enjoy his football at the club.
The feeling in Venezuela, where most people follow La Liga rather than the PL (crazy, I know), is that Giggs is and has been one of the Best players in the world for the past two decades.
I really need to make these replies shorter!
Ro, Good to have you back! First thing is don't ever make your replies shorter! We like to read peoples oppinions on every matter so the more you write the better. Have you got yourself a fantasy football team yet? There are quite afew of us on it now and should be real fun! if you read this in time you really need to do it asap! One thing I did not mention and you are right to bring it up is his loyalty to his country. He had countless opportunites to play for England where he would have had the opportunity to play in may European and World cups. I nstead he opted to play for Wales, his hoe country which demonstrates a loyalty to his country that cannot be questioned!
Living in Italy and not having much time, I don't watch much football, not even United! I have always thought Giggs was one of the best, though I agree to a certain extent with the second comment, the one about him not achieving real greatness. In my opinion (and the opinion of all football lovers in Italy), Giggs is a great player, gifted with amazing versatility apart from anything else. But I sometimes wonder if United players do not always carry on developing and improving, especially in their late twenties, when they should be reaching their peaks. A couple of examples might be Beckham and Scholes. (And what happened to Butt?)
Two memories. One of Giggs playing against Italy and tearing them apart, though unfortunately not scoring, so a soft Italian goal meant defeat for Wales. The other against Juve, 3 or 4 years ago in the Champions Leagure. United had already qualified and so let's say were not really up for it. But Giggs bagged a pair if I am not mistaken and the second goal was a classic - he ran like a gazelle at the Juve defense (including Zambrotta), which just collapsed in front of him. Marvellous!
