Manchester United Transfer news

I think we have really turned a corner. Ronaldo has said to the press that he now wants to commit to United beyond 2 years. It is testament to the club on how well they are performing, he could not envisage more success anywhere else. Today he has declared that he has no interest in joining either Real Madrid or Barcelona. Now Ronaldo let’s get that contract signed so we can all move on.

In other transfer news, Ferguson is reportedly interested in signing Eidur Gudjohnsen from Barcelona in an £8 million move. I think this would represent an excellent piece of business, but would say that £6 million is a more appropriate figure. Gudjohnsen is a fantastic player, he has skill, movement and can spot a pass a mile away, why Chelsea ever sold him in the first place is beyond me and he is now struggling to hold down a first team place at Barcelona.

I think we should also be keeping our eyes peeled for a right back. Gary is getting on a bit now and Wes Brown, although dependable is not best playing in that position. Therefore we need a young committed right back that can tackle and cross, does anybody have any ideas?

I think this summer will be interesting in terms of transfers. We have progressed well in all competitions, we have new sponsorship deals in place and so I think Ferguson will be allowed to strengthen in a few areas. I would desperately love to see another class winger at the club and of course Hargreaves, surely Bayern are losing the war to keep him now!

Lastly the international break provides a welcome break in fixtures for the club. It provides a little time for the walking wounded to recover and more able to deal with the congested fixture list ahead. To have Saha, Neville and Scholes back will be vital if we are to carry on in this rich vein of form.

I think Ronaldo committing himself to the club and signing a an extension to his current contract will be this summer's best piece of business..gudjohsen is a very experience and clever player who wud definitely add smething to our strikeforce as a second striker..u are right,g.neville despite being a word-class right-back for years is getting old and we need a young right-back bags with good potential, the ideal choice wud be micah richards but i doubt that citeh wud sell him to us.another choice wud be grooming one of our own youngster be it bardsley who has been playin well at a.villa, simpson who everyone has been raving as a very dependeable and full of potential right-back or even pique who has been putting high-class performances week-in week-out for zaragoza in la liga at right-back..

As far as tranfers go. i think in the summer there only 3 players we need.

1)Owen Hargreaves - His energy and ability to win the ball off the opposition will add another key ingredient into our midfield
2)Gareth bale - who i think will def be signed. He could also be trained into a winger, so we hav a left sided player with the capability to deliver deadly crosses as beckham did from the right. Not to mension his proficiency at dead ball situations! This would probably also spell the end of silvestre at man utd, which i dont mind, lol.
3)My personal favourites are fernando torres and jan-klaas huntelar. If not i believe rossi should be given his chance, because he is going to be a great player.

i like the idea of grooming one of our own, though i'm not sure we've really been doing that. then again, i haven't seen those lads much so i can't really comment.

remember neville when he first started? he was such a liability. now he is arguably the most intelligent and calm right back in the business. he just knows where to be and how to get there even though he's not that quick.

i'm stumped though to think of a replacement. i had no idea who heinze and evra were before they showed up at old trafford.

Right back is not really a problem, infact I'd go as far as saying that it's about the area where we've got a lot of young options. Micah Richards is an oaf we don't need, Chelsea can pay 20mn for him and let his grow putrid with time. He's no Gary neville going forward and that's what we need. The only right backs I've seen who do what Gazz has done for us all these years are Cafu, Zanetti, Alves, Luke Young who in honesty is only a poor man's neville, Miguel who is the right back I rate very highly and the fact that he plays behind R7 for Portugal is probably only going to help us & Sagnol. Among the aforementioned if there's someone I want us to sign it's have to be Miguel.

But like i said we might not need to do it. We've got Bardsley a tough nutter who needs to learn how to offer more in the final hird, Simpson at Sunderland under Keano who's better going forward but does get outweighed easily but of course Keane is the best palce ot set that straight, Eckersley, and 2 Brazilian twins who are absolute crackers. I've got a youtube link to a goal one of them named Fabio scored yesteday for the U-21.
