Man Utd V Blacburn match review

It was another weekend of fantastic football as the reds maintained their three point lead at the top of the table. Although the victory was not as comfortable as the previous two premiership games, we played with a style and conviction that demonstrated that we deserve to be where we are in the league.

It was games like these that we were losing last season. Those tricky away games were the ones that meant we lost pace with early leaders Chelsea and had conceded the title before the Christmas period. This time around the tables have turned. We have won our last five games in a row and look like the team to beat.

A few people were critical when Ferguson said having Scholes, Heinze and Solskjaer back was like having three new signings. I think that now is the time for them to eat their words. Again on Saturday, Scholes and Giggs were faultless in their pursuit of the victory. Ronaldo was sublime, as was Saha. Rooney, although he missed a few chances showed great determination and was involved in the majority of United’s attacking play.

We have the big one coming up against Chelsea on the 26th November and it will be vital that we grab the three points with both hands. Chelsea have a bigger squad, but we have the bigger desire to win it. We beat them last year at home and we MUST do it again. As long as we beat Sheffield Utd a victory against the Blues could leave us six points plus clear at the top!

Liverpool put the final nails in their coffin, losing 3-0 to Arsenal. The outcome of that game means Arseanl are yet again sniffing around the top of the table. A couple more losses to mediocre teams should finish off their title bid.

Below are the highlights of the weekend’s game against Blackburn! Enjoy and please feel free to comment.

I'd add Vidic and Evra as well in terms of 'new' signings, as they've both been superb this season. Evra has been a revelation, and I wonder how much of a future Silvestre has left at OT in view of PE's recent form. I also think Rio plays much better with Vidic at the back, which is mirrored by us having the best defensive (and offensive) record in the league.

If we can keep this form up until January, then add a couple of major signings (Hargreaves especially), I'd fancy us to take the title, especially as we seem to be nicking the goals now that we weren't last season, and because the back four looks a lot more solid.

I couldn't help but notice that Smith or Richardson weren't on the bench on Saturday, and none of the subs were attacking players. Granted that Park and Solskjaer are injured, but do we really need three defenders on the bench?

And I have to mention the continued renaissance of FC TKK in the FF league, with 36 points already this month - c'mon!
