Manchester United Transfer rumours.

Okay so tonight we face Chelsea in a rather meaningless match against Chelsea. Ferguson has announced he will rest key players so as to make it fair for the other teams facing relegation. If only other managers were so fair. Anyhow today I don’t really want to talk to much about the game as the transfer rumours have started. I want to get the format correct with this, so what I was thinking was, talk about the rumour and put a link to the story. If anyone finds any other rumours, be sure to post it in the comments section for all to see.

Let’s kick things off with Nani. The mirror is saying that he could come for £17.5 million. I reckon £12 million is a fairer valuation of the player, who is yet to explode on the scene. Here is a video of him

Next up is Eto. There was talk of us moving for him earlier this year and to be honest the prospect of having Eto lining up with Rooney and Ronaldo is positively mouth watering. Read about the story in the mail.

The Berbatov Rumours are still rife in the press with various papers reporting that he is next on the hit-list for Ferguson. Berbatov or Eto who would you prefer? Read one article from the Guardian here

Also in the news today, The Malaysian President has criticised United for planning a trip to the country at a time when they hold the Asian cup. The President is worried that it will draw attention from the showpiece event. To be fair he has a point, but surely the people will make up their own mind? Read the story in the Telegraph

I hope that’s enough transfer rumours for today. As always let me know your thoughts on who we should sign.

In my opinion,Berbatov didn't make his best this year and I think he'll play better for us.He's a first class player and a competition for the first team would be benefic for him.Nani?Excellent choice, speed and technique together ,that's why our Ronaldo shines so brightly.Eto?Fantastic player, but how many forwards do we really need?

Like you say, the game tonight is immaterial in the Premiership competition although, undoubtedly, if Chelsea beat the second team Fergie intends to play, they will claim it as proof of their superiority as a team. Clutching at straws in my view but hey, thats been their story all season, whether it was injuries or penalty decisions, Mourinho will always moan.

Transfer rumours are rife once again with the promise of £50 million transfer fund for our illustrious leader to spend over the summer. I'm thinking a key defencive player should be brought in at some point to ensure we don't suffer the same problems next season as we did towards the end of this one. If someone can tell me the whereabouts of Walter Samuel and his transfer status at the moment, i'd be interested to know as 'Il Muro' was looking like he would develop into one of the best defenders in the world.

Nani would be a great addition to the squad and I believe Fergie to be the perfect man to nurture his talent and turn him into a player equally as impressive as Ronaldo. It will be tough going for him coming into a squad as incredible as Uniteds but I think with the right mentality, he will relish the opportunities.

Samuel Eto, a formidable striker, would create a devastating strike partnership with Rooney but in all homesty, I can't see him gracing Old Trafford with out some serious persuasion, but look what Fergie accomplished with getting Larrson on loan. He's a shrewd operator who can never be counted out when it comes to signing players.

I'm in two minds about Berbers at the moment. There's no question he's been a prolific goal scorer towards the end of this season but its yet to be seen if he can produce this consistently. As always, the media has generated pages and pages of hype with limited experience of his play.

Franck Ribery has also expressed interest in playing in England but it will require him take a serious step up in game speed and overall class coming from Ligue 1 to the Premiership.

Any further rumours will be posted soon.

U-N-I-T-E-D, United are the team for me!!

The only problem with Eto is that he will be participating in the African Cup during Jan/Feb 2008, along with Drogba, Kalou, Essien and Mikel of Chelsea - it would be good to steal a march on them during that period.

How come Torres has dropped off the radar?

Would we want to get Dyer at a knock down price?

As far as i'm aware, Torres is still on the radar but I think Fergie will be keeping the negotiations very low key to avoid any last minute steals from likes of Chelsea. I seem to remember there were a nmber of complications including contract agreements last time we attempted to sign Torres. Good point Rud boy about Africas cup but 1 player out compared to Chelsea's 4 would not be a huge problem. Strength in depth is going to be key next season.

I don't think Dyer would be a great addition to the team but if the price is low enough he could make a great back up player.

Eto would be the choice addition to strike force with Smith and Ole as back up.

I'm torn as to whether Berbatov or Eto would better succeed at United. Berbatov has already proved he can handle the speed and skill of the Premiership where as Eto hasn't been outstanding in Champs league games against English clubs. I guess if he has time adapt, that could change but will have tome to let a first choice player adapt in a League where the start of the season proves key to a teams capture of the title.

All I know is, I have faith in Fergie to sign the right men for the roles that need occupying in the team. Saha has been a let down purely through persistant injuries but when you look at Ronners, Vidic and Carrick, you struggle to find fault.

For me it has to be Eto. My only concern is his attitude and we all know what Fergie is like with players who think they are bigger than the team. I would hate to see us splash out on him, only for Fergie to cut his losses a season later. Berbatov is good, but pace is an issue. Perhaps its just me but he comes accross a bit mangey, sorry that's probably a little harsh lol!

Forgot to mention. Pace is what United are all about at the moment. Anyone with speed is a candidate for the squad!

I’m sorry my English is very bad.

My 2º club is Man Utd.

If Man Utd wants Nani to substitute Giggs , then buy Moutinho or Manuel fernades (Everton) to substitute Schooles --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoKU4S26lPc

For many Portuguese Quaresma is better them Ronaldo if Man Utd buy Quaresma Man Utd wins 12 millions fans. --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jByLhXXiGM

Nani (20 years)– 20 million €
Quaresma (23 years)– 20 million €
Manuel Fernandes (23 years)– 18 million €
Moutinho (20 years)– 15 million €

and another’s young stars :

Yannick djalo , Miguel Veloso ,Fabio Paím (Sporting), Bosingwa , Hugo Almeida , Raul Meireles (FC Porto)

All this players have many big club in Europe interests .

Allan smith , park , Fletcher , Richardson , brown , oshea this players are very bad compared with Portuguese young stars players .

If you don’t agreed see the example of Ricardo Carvalho , Tiago , Paulo Ferreira , Deco , Critiano Ronaldo , Maniche they are the best but they need big Managers like Sir Alex , ….Luis Figo is only one .

I’m sorry again my English is very very bad .

according to bbc hargreaves is still set to sign for us. see link:

i still think this would be our best buy. i'm also intrigued by the possibility of stealing michael owen for the 9million pound buyout clause. i think he would be far more suited to utd than either berbatov or eto'o. he's selfless, fast, precise and totally comfortable in the EPL and CL. i would wager that his skill will improve over the next year as he gets used to his injuries and needing to change the way he plays.

also, of serious concern, i think, is a right back. gary neville will undoubtedly get injured at some point next season. we need better cover than o'shea and fletcher.....though wes brown does fill in decently when he's not needed in central defence.

so, for the sake of argument!: i would skip all the suggested players (nani, eto'o, berbatov) and go for michael owen, hargreaves, and an unknown right back.

what a fun summer it will be!

Just a quick note, Nani has today said he is desperate to join United having snubbed an offer from Athletico Madrid. He knows how much Ronners has learned and progressed and wants to be part of it. And who can blame him?

Agent, The person that's making lots of noises on ManUtd's tour to Malaysia is the Asia Football Confederation (AFC) president, who is from Qatar. His name is Mohamed Hamman.

As far as football fans in Malaysia is concerned, it's not about tournaments or cups but purely exciting FOOTBALL.

ManUtd fans in Malaysia is fanatical and when all of us got to know abt the tour, it's just like a "once-in-a-life time" opportunity to see the ManUtd stars/players in person.

Don't think the ManUtd tour will "outshine" the Asian Cup, as feared by the AFC President.

The invitation to Old Trafford was part of Malaysia celebrating its 50th anniversary of independence this year and also part of the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 celebrations.

The debates continues........but I think we'll see ManUtd stars in July 07 in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, there has been much speculation on the players coming to OT. I think it's part of SAF's acumen to distract other teams from knowing specifically his preferred signings.

But, my take on SAF is:
Hargreaves : 15 - 18 mill
Berbatov : 8-10 mill
Bale : 5 - 8 mill

SAF is quite nationalistic with British players.
