Mirror mirror on the wall, what's the greatest lineup of them all?

I'll keep my post quite brief today. Thanks to everyone who posted their line-ups on the blog and please keep them coming in. I think I have a winner so far and that goes to Andy W with the following lineup:

VDS
Neville Ferdinand Vidic Heinze

Hargreaves
Ronaldo Nani
Anderson

Tevez Rooney

You will notice that most of the experienced heads are missing and for good reason. Do you remember when Ferguson got rid of Hughes Ince and the other old heads? Everybody thought he was crazy, with a certain commentator stating "you'll never win anything with kids". The rest is history.

This team represents the future of United. It's a team that has the potential to rule domestic and European football for years to come and that is why I believe this is Fergies best eleven. The only person I would maybe change would be VDS, replacing him with Foster. We should be looking to the future and it with a team like that, it really is a bright one.

Amey Nevrekar couldn't see why I omitted Solskjaer from both starting line-ups and he does have a point. At 33 he was still instrumental in helping us salvage valuable points last season, there is no doubt that the baby face assassin still has that killer edge. But I see him as no more than a bit player this season. As much as I respect him as a player, it is now time for the likes of Rossi and Dong to step up to the plate and show what they can do. Solskjaer will always be in our hearts, but now it's time for the kids to shine!

On a side note, I'm thinking of starting up the fantasy football league again. If anyone has some good suggestions for a free one that we can use, please let me know.

Can't remember if I've already left this comment (so feel free to delete if I have), but the Metro Fantasy Football is free and the registrations for the new season have started.

While that's a fantastic 11 on paper, I think we might be reaching a bit when we think Anderson is ready to step in and perform at a Scholes-like level immediately. I had not seen much of him before the signing was announced, and YouTube compilations aside, the first time I got a good look was at the Copa America tournament. To be honest, he showed flashes but wasn't that impressive in the majority of the games. He's one for the future, I'd take the same line-up but leave Scholes in for him.

How can you possibly even consider leaving scholes out? It was no coincidence that we improved so much last season when scholes came back from the eye problem. Yes ronaldo was awesome but week in week out scholes is the the most effective creative midfielder in the premiership.

I'm a really big fan of the Red Devils, and have been since the heady days of club legends like Remi Moses, Graham Hogg & of course Peter Davenport. The last two games have been a great throwback to those days. The new signings are virtual carbon copies of what is aleady there. Now we have Ronaldo & Nani prancing like tits on opposing flanks. Sir Alex should emerge from the tunnel at every home game with Rooney & Tevez snarling on leads like a pair of slathering beasts. Hargreaves & Carrick have the timid look of munchkin men, and are indicative of the increasing influence of bizarre creatures within Old Trafford. Its a worrying trend that pixies {Anderson/Park), sprites (Giggs/Saha), Elvin folk (van der sar/Scholes), & all manner of goblinry(Neville/Fergie)have such a stranglehold at United. It's time for the old duffer to dedicate more time to the bottle and pass the baton on to his tame Portugese. I'm fond of Pompey too, I love to hear the press & pundits banging on about the passion of the crowd. Fratton Park is a hole. Nevertheless with a point against Pompey, Man U boast an unbeaten record. Too sum up - Fergie has to go in an ugly & public fashion. Immediate unveiling of renamed Stretford end, now to be known as the Glazer Stand. By the way, no sane person can argue with any of the above comments as I am right...so don't bother, you'd be wasting your time.
