Manchester United the rollercoaster!

Good morning fellow United fans and what a great morning it is too. Is the premiership the best league in the world or what? At one point we were 2-0 down, with Chelsea leading 2-1 and we were going to have to play Chelsea at the bridge for the title. Then Our boys pulled yet another performance out of the bag, Chelsea conceded a goal and it’s 4-2 to us, Chelsea draw and we are 5 points clear with 3 games to go.

It’s at this point of the season that more emotion is spilled than any other. I think it’s partly because we all know that the season is drawing near, it’s been a long hard road and suddenly it’s make or break for everything. Of course winning the silverware is important, we’ve smelt it for so long but it’s so close now that you can almost taste it.

At the back of my mind I know that this summer will be long with no football to watch. My hope is that we are celebrating a host of trophies under our illustrious manager. When the dust settles and we are kicking our heals, this blog will resort back to the Man Utd transfer rumour blog reporting every little bit of gossip I can get my hands on, remember the Carrick and Van Nistelrooy saga?

But let’s not think about that now, we still have a few games left of this season, one of the most important being Wednesday’s visit to Milan. Vidic will have a scan today that will determine whether or not he can play in the game, oh how we need him. Ferguson said that he was trying his best to get Rio back, perhaps the gap in the Premiership will give him a little breathing space to make that decision.

We hold a 3-2 lead. That second away goal is the crucial one for them. A 1-0 result would send Milan through and us going home wondering what might have been! However this season seems different. Could you imagine this team coming back from 2-0 down away from home last season? Could you picture us driving on from 2-1 down against a team like Milan and then scoring a winner in injury time?

Wednesday will be tough, but we have shown time and time again this season that no matter how up against it we are, we can mix it with the best. This season promises many more ups and downs before Man Utd rollercoaster pulls into the station!

I am from Singapore and I have been a United Fan for 12 years already. Just in case you are wondering how old am I? I am 22 this year. Really enjoyed reading your blog, and surfing your blog is part of my daily intake of soccer news.

Anyway,in my opinion, the level of football we are playing this year is much higher than in 99(it certainly excites me more). Maybe it is due to the fast counter attacking football we are capable of this time round. Everytime when we are a one or even two goals down, we know our team are more than capable of scoring and winning the match. With scholes and carrick providing the passes, Giggs, Rooney and Ronaldo applying the finishing touch, we have 5 match winners in our team. Someone did mention that even when opponents take a two nil lead against United now, they will still be afraid of taking nothing from the match.

I think we have a good chance of winning the treble. The title might be wrapped up even before we play against Chelsea as if we manage to take 3 points off Man City, and Chelsea does not win their away encounter with Arsenal, the title will be in our bag. Even then, I would still love to see us beat them at their own backyard. As for the FA cup, after the defeat against Arsenal, our team will not want to taste defeat again and hopefully a clash with chelsea will be the extra motivation to make United bring the FA cup home. As for the Champions League, I am quite confident that our team will be able to avoid defeat in Milan. As Milan need to chase the game, there will be gaps available for Rooney and Co to exploit. Hopefully it will be Sir Alex's second final in his United Career.

The season is just getting better and BETTER.

wednesday is massive. the tie is poised on a knife's edge and this is the time when our amazing performances at old trafford have to be translated to europe away. we were pretty dire away to lens and not too strong in rome. we have to realise we can play 'our' way in milan.

but you're right agent, this year you can taste the difference.

on another note, last weekend's results could make for a really interesting final day of the season. west ham are now in a position to rescue themselves from relegation at wigan's expense (or fulham's!). we might end up facing a west ham team needing a win to stay up....could be very exciting. imagine us winning the league at the expense of another team being relegated!

anyway forget to intro my name, my name is weekian.

I am a big fan of Curbs, so it will be quite sad to see west ham being relegated. I think they are a good team, and they are an entertaining team, so it will be quite sad to see us winning at the expense of others. However, if we have to do it to secure the title, we WILL DO IT.

Anyway, Vida and Rio are part of the travelling squard to Milan. Was wondering how would Wes and Gabby feel when they are left out of the team the moment the " first teamers" are back in action. Afterall, they are the ones that took us to this stage.

lest not forget....
11 red shirt heroes...last seen in Nou Camp, Barcelona on 26th May 1999.
They had the fortitude and character to come back from 1-0 down in the final 3 mins...amazing...remember the night in Turin...a 3-2 victory against Juventus when even the commentator said we needed a miracle..
let's hope the 11 red shirt heroes turn up tonight in Milan...and i really have belief now..since we have come this far...give it your all lads!!! Bring the trophy back from Athens!!!
