Good morning people, apologies for not posting in a while, it’s been a hectic week and surprisingly not many transfer rumours about. The latest news is that Hargreaves will join up with United at the start of next week. It will be great when one of the longest transfer sagas in history finally winds up. We are hoping that this is just the start.
What was going on with Bale? So many people have said that this kid is going to be special. We were in the hunt for him and then all of asudden, Tottenham unveil him for £5 million, possibly £10 million. Let’s just hope that we don’t end up paying over the odds for him in 2 years time. I honestly feel that we’ve missed a great opportunity there.
Then there is Nani. This is a player who we have been tracking for a couple of years now. All of a sudden Totttenham are in Portugal looking to do a quick deal. I think the Man Utd scouts need to wake up a little and sign the players that we actually earmark.
Anyway rant over. The news in the oh so reliable Daily star reports that Sir Alex is making his move for both Eto and Huntelaar. These are old stories and I know we need to keep our transfers quiet for fear of being priced out of the market, but let’s have some fresh developments!
I think we should also be focussing on wingers. As it stands we have Giggs, Ronaldo, Park and Richardson. This needs bolstering this summer if we are to avoid being caught thin on the ground next season. Who do you think we should sign other than Nani?
Finally Ryan Giggs is to announce his retirement from international football today. He is quoted as saying that he would like to prolong his playing career at United! Good man! I’m sure you will all join with me in congratulating Giggsy on a fantastic international career!

I think a club like Tottenham is attractive to young players because they have decent funding, they always fight for a place in Europe, albeit the Uefa cup, their London location (derbys), and they have a better chance to break into- and hold- a place in the starting eleven.
To choose Spurs over United can be seen as a lack of ambition on the players' part. But if you look at it from their side, I'm sure Bale prefers to battle the Spurs left back for a place, whoever he is. The prospect of sending Heinze, Evra, or even both (and Silvestre, for that matter), to the bench does not seem easy. I don't think Nani would have it easy either.
I've always felt United is a place where youngsters develop very well, and they always get their chance to shine. Big clubs buy players for a reason: they think they are good enough for the squad. Their confidence should match that of the manager buying them, no matter who your fighting for a place.
By the way, I hope Heinze doesn't leave.
As for Giggs, what a career! I'm glad he will be fresh for more games next season.
Hi Agent,
Regarding the Nani situation, the last news here in Portugal are that David Gill and Carlos Queiros are in Lisbon and already met some Sporting officials.
Sporting will only let Nani go if a club pays the release clause.
Great news if we can get him before Tottenham.
He will need time to develop under Sir Alex and Carlos, just like Ronaldo, but he could be great for us.

Manchester United have agreed deals to sign Sporting's Nani and Porto's Anderson.
....
Forget Chelsea Man Utd is now the best team in the world .
Man Utd swoop for Anderson & Nani -
according to the bbc the deals have been agreed in principle.
absolutely! congrats to mr. giggs on making the right decision for his club!! we'll get a full season out of him next year for sure.
as for Bale, that's an odd one too, though spurs aren't a bad team to join straight up from the championship. it's possible his advisors told him that he should prove his worth at spurs then try and move on to one of the top four (well, three i guess if he doesn't want to do another sol campbell!).
it will certainly be interesting how that works out for us, especially if heinze moves on, which i hope he doesn't. he's excellent back up for both left back and central defense, though he might feel he should be starting every week.
i would definitely welcome nani. the kid looks really good and i think ronaldo and giggs could teach him a thing or two.
is there any word on who might be leaving the club? richardson? fletcher? o'shea?....smith??!! hopefully only richardson. and what about a cover for right back? there doesn't seem to be any word on that.
in other interesting news, becks is back for england. i've always been a fan of his, and i'm glad he's going to have one last chance to show what an asset he's been for england over the years.
let's be honest. we have the players to compete against the best but we've just lacked the passion (and the manager!). i think our premiership players are just too well paid and protected to care enough about internationals. not that i think that's wrong. i'd probably be the same. i mean they play average 60 games a season for their clubs, then have to go out and get clobbered in bad tackles by people who are just loving the chance to have a go at england and possibly get seen by a scout at the same time.
anyway, i'm curious to see if beckham's presence makes any difference next week.

To follow up on Nani and also Anderson...A United statement read: ""Manchester United is delighted to announce it has agreed terms in principle with FC Porto and Sporting Lisbon for the purchase of the registrations of Anderson and Nani."(sky sports)
This is very pleasing to hear.
