International performances from the boys

Well it was another international fixtures weekend and well it was great for the Scott’s it was fairly miserable for the English. We put in an under par performance with no players really excelling. Rooney for all his effort still lacked the edge and instinctive side to his game. Carrick started quietly, but showed some of his brilliance with some great cross field passing, we just need to see more of that for United now! Neville as always played excellently, although that dire miss arguably cost us the 3 points. Rio was out with a back spasm and we hope he recovers soon.

I know we aren’t here to talk about England and there are many readers of this blog who are not English, but I would love to know what your thoughts are on David Beckham both at Real Madrid and for England. I believe that he has been treated harshly particularly by Mcclaren. I don’t know what went on in the England camp before he took over but to drop him completely seems a rather obscure move. I think that Beckham could play Carrick’s role in the England setup more effectively. His days as a winger are over though, he simply does not have the pace any more.

I may get a strong opposing view here, but I would love to see Becks back at United. Not as a first team proposition, but as a squad player. He would fit in beautifully in the centre of our midfield, filling in when required. It would also mean we had someone decent to take free-kicks for us. People say he is past it, but I do not! He is a worker and he loves United and the United fans love him! Is it a step in the wrong direction?

Finally I know we are only in October, but let’s keep the speculation going as to who we should sign in January. Who has impressed you in the premiership so far? And who deserves to wear our beloved red Jersey? I think Hargreaves may have to wait until the Summer as he would not pass a medical, so what are your thoughts of bringing in Mascherano? Is there too much unrest surrounding him? Has he been given the opportunity to shine at West-Ham and could he get those opportunities at Man Utd?

I think the point about Beckham is that because of his media profile he's never really a squad player. It's probably difficult to really evaluate the impact of this unless you're inside the England squad set-up and can see how it affects all the players.

Lampard seems to be the new Beckham at the minute, turning in a sucession of poor international performances yet not being dropped. I'm reading Lampard's autobiography so as to do a hatchet job on it for my blog and it truly is a shocking read! I'd be interested in seeing Scholes and Gerrard in central midfield, but that's obviously not going to happen either for club or country.

Would Hargreaves not be back in light training by January? I noted that Spurs signed Malbranque even though (I think) he had some injury but passed the medical.

I still think, fitness permitting, we should go again for Hargreaves in the January window. Even if he's cup-tied for the Champions' League that could possibly only mean him missing a couple of games and him having the backend of the season to get used to the Premiership.

Mascherano is a no-no, for sure. Fergie's already turned down JM as an option, and I reckon him and Tevez have some curse on them based on what's happening at West Ham...

At this point I would like to take this opportunity to mention a very sad little man who likes to post comments on this blog. I think he must be a scouser or a gooner because he is getting more and more upset that I won't publish his posts..."bless"! Sorry little man but you are a laughing stock! He reckons that United fans don't have a clue and we all eat prawn sandwiches. All I can say is... where's your blog you sad scouser/gooner! you have no life so you come on here trying to lower the tone of our community, why don't you come back when you've got some balls you idiot lol!

I agree with u about bringing back Bekham to United. Even if he isnt the same player he was a few years ago, i still feel he could inspire our team to glory! but i know its not gonna happen.

I just dont understand whats wrong with England apart from wayne being woefully out of form. But i think given time this squad of players might just do it. we just have to be patient and give them some time to adjust to the new formation, strategies and stle of play.

Rumours going around that we are interested in Sporting Lisbon youngster Nani. Havent seen much of him. How good is he?

Finally, i would like to say that your blog is excellent and i make it a point to visit it as often as i can. keep up the good work.

Glory Glory Man Utd!!

Thanks for the kind words, I think that we have a great community here and long may it continue. It's a shame that there are idiots in this world who have nothing better to do that write trash in my comments section, but then again just goes to show how pathetic they are, when they know it's never going to get published yet they still type away. They are either stupid or supremely jealous at our teams success. I haven't heard about this Nani charachter, but if he's half as good as Ronaldo, he is definately worth a shout. I'll see what info I can dig up. Will post as soon as I do!

Ronaldo! He scored 2, made the other, plus he had the below goal disallowed, so should have had a hat-trick.

Its an overhead kick thats hits the bar and goes over the line but isn't given. Enjoy and be glad he's united through and through, for now!

To the sad sad little gooner that is still determined to write comments that no-one sees. You really seem to enjoy writing to no-one. Why don't you get a life? You claim to be a gooner, yet you spend most of your time on a man utd blog posting to me, a man utd fan! I'm guessing your still at school because you can't spell either! Appologies to the regular readers who probably have no idea what I'm going on about.
