Man Utd V Liverpool team comparison and transfer talk

Good morning to everyone. It seems that playing Liverpool gets peoples emotions flowing. For me Man Utd Versus Liverpool are the biggest games of the season without question. The key to this battle I feel will almost certainly lie in the midfield.

As great as we are, I have to admit that Liverpool’s midfield is stronger than ours. Gerrard and Sissoko area formidable force, Sholes and Carrick will need to be at the top of their game to compete on Sunday.

Now that I’ve got that out of the way, let’s compare our attack to theirs. Rooney, Ronaldo, Giggs and Saha….. Bellamy and Crouch with Fowler for backup. Let’s be honest there is no contest as far as that battle is concerned, United trounce them with skill, speed and efficiency.

In defence we reign supreme again with Rio, Vidic, Heinze (who has an outside chance of playing) and Neville. If you look at our backup we also look strong. Evra and Brown are very handy replacements to have in your Arsenal. If we can cope with the midfield battle we have every chance of walking away with a 2-0 victory. To hold our head high on Sunday afternoon we must win and win well.

Talking of transfers, it seems that Ferguson is still keen on Hargreaves and he on us. I think he is very much manipulating the media, letting Bayern know that we have not dropped our interest in the England International. We all know that Hargreaves wants to join us, so I think it’s only a matter of time.

Nani is another prospect and a more likely candidate to join in January. Someone has already mentioned on this blog that it seemed a good idea to bring players in January as it gives them half a season to acclimatise and hit the ground running in the next season. I’m sure we will buy in January following the disappointment of the Hargreaves saga. The question is who?

all these news abt hargreaves joining us are encouraging.

i suppose carrick wil be left out if he joins.wat do u guys think?

tomorrow's match will see us hosting liverpool.no doubt we will be aiming for a win no less.

however i feel that being overwhelming favourites will increase the pressure of the players.similar to the arsenal match.

a win is possible if we play to our potential.

possible threats from liverpool
stevie g
luis garcia
xabi alonso

hi there man utd agent and all,

just got back from three weeks off getting married (!) so not much chance to catch many games. did get to see this past week's champs league games and what a delight. rooney close to his best which is a great relief. please SAL, keep him just behind the front man for every game!!!

i was surprised though at carrick. or maybe surprised at his price tag. great vision but i'm not convinced he's got the bottle to really break up play and switch the momentum from defence to attach. compare him to the outstanding makalele in wed's chelsea/barca match. if you want to learn how to play DM just watch that game over and over. imperious.

anyway, we seem to be playing well and communicating as a team which is crucial. tomorrow is huge. a major test of that team spirit. gerrard and alonso will be v. difficult but i think we can do it.

hargreaves in jan or aug: don't care...either month would be fantastic! though wonder if SAL will wait and see how he copes in the bundesliga once he's recovered from his broken leg. he might want to make sure the boy still has the mentality that he showed this past year.

right then. liverpool's scalp to keep chelsea chasing through xmas!

Hey Marlowe Congratulations on the wedding. What better way to celebrate things than with a victory over the Scousers. We can bring the title home!
