Man Utd to show the kop that we are still the kings

This weekend sees battle commence between two of footballs superpowers. Manchester United V Liverpool represents one of the biggest rivalries between fans and players, where winning is the only option. How we would love to sink them at Old Trafford leaving them 11 points behind with no hope of capturing a title they have never won.

At the start of this premiership campaign all the papers were saying that United were finished. This year it was to be Liverpool’s year. It was the scousers who were going to push Chelsea all the way, whilst United would be struggling for 3rd or 4th. Well to the Sun and the Mirror and The Star, how wrong you were. Liverpool look second rate, they have lost and drawn games that they simply should have won. Their season reminds me of our campaign last term. We looked like a team in decline, a squad that had lost its way if you like. We came back but it was still not enough and Benitez knows that the pressure is on for him now.

To see how much this means game means to United you only need to look at the celebrations last year by Gary Neville and Rooney. I know I posted it before, but for those of you who didn’t see it, check it out Here.

We must beat Liverpool to prove to those critics that suggest that we can only beat the small teams and that we have had a comfortable fixture list to start the season. We are a big game club, we can beat the big teams and we have demonstrated this time and again. Saturday will be no different.

In other news, it was announced yesterday that commercial director Andy Anson and finance director Nick Humby will be leaving the club in February. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their work at the club and wish them all the best for the future. We often forget about the back room staff that help to make the club run smoothly. For me they are just as important as the players and we should recognise that.

There have been calls from MUST (Manchester United Supporters Trust) that the pair should come clean about the situation at the club. I would support that point of view entirely. If there are problems then supporters should know about them. One thing that upsets me about the Glazers is their lack of communication to the fans. We have a right to know about our club and the situation it is in. When Joel Glazer assumed control, he assured the fans that he would be in regular contact with supporters. Sadly this has not happened. The family rarely go to the games because of security risks, instead they prefer to dictate things form America which is a shame because it makes them appear disinterested in the club and the fans that pay so much to support the club.

Okay rant over for now. Bring on the scousers, let’s thrash them on Sunday so we can celebrate into the night on Sunday!

we need to win and we will!
with or without gerrard we are too much for them.
2-0 to us with carrick getting his 1st goal (he is getting better- a possible candidate to replace paul scholes.)
is torres or hargreaves joining us?

There's no question about it - we need a win at OT on Sunday. A draw would be a disaster. I dont even want to contemplate defeat here.
Chelsea take on Portsmouth and will go top atleast till we play the Pool. A must win game and we must approach it as a cup final.

I predicted a 4-1 against Copenhagen on this blog(we won 3-0). I'm going with 3-1 for this one (I woudlnt mind that translating into a 2-0 either).

We should finish off liverpoo's (no typo!) title challenge (if it ever was existant) by crushing them. We should have won against arsenal but this is one game we MUST win.

is torres or hargreaves joining us?

nani (sporting lisbon winger)
torres (no need to explain)
hargreaves (same as above)
huntelaar (ajax striker)
gordon (hearts keeper)

McGeady (think he plays for Celtic. not too sure)

Bekham (u nevr know!)
