£16 million Mascherano Bid by Manchester United

Alex Ferguson is locked in talks with Corinthians club over the possible purchase of Argentina world cup star Javier Mascherano according to The Mirror! Read the full article here

The Firery Scot has alledgedly tabled a bid of £16 million however the Brazilian club rate him at nearer £25 million. The news that ferguson is targeting quality youngsters with the potential of becoming world superstars comes as a welcome relief to many United fans (me included) who had feared we would start the season without any new signings at all. Everyone knows we are short in the engine room and need 2 possibly 3 signings to be a dominat force in England.

The Key to this deal is whether or not the Glazers are willing to dig deep in order to fund the transfer. However at 22 Mascherano would have an aextremely high resale value should he shine at the old trafford kingdom.

Ferguson has been quoted of late as saying the fans would be happy if we made no signings.. Erm well not quite Fergie, but I for one have a lot of faith in you and am not panicking just yet. i rather we take our time and get quality, rather than ending up with another djemba djemba!
