Carrick signing is a masterstroke

Yet another BBc article on the Carrick issue can be found here
I think the main point to come from this is that if he raises his game he can no doubt be one of the greatest midfielders of his time. I for one am getting very excited about having him as our holding midfielder next season.

I think the most important aspect of his game that needs improving is his tackling. Once he has this he can be the complete midfielder, providing great distribution for the rest of the team. I think this will be the last I say on Carrick seeing as the topic has been done to death, i'll probably post a link to the official press release when it comes out.

Although I forgot to add, I do think that Carrick will prove to be a great signing, though we may not see him stamp his authority until next year.

Hopefully he already has a good understanding with Rio from W Ham to link the defence and midfield.

Great Blog, Im a Man United Fan from Venezuela.
Believe it or not, i've been following Carrick even when he was at West Ham, always liked his game. I agree he must step up, but he will make a difference. I'd like to see him as Diarra's midfield partner.

Thank you. I wanted to create a place where real fans can talk about their beloved club, without the hype and spin of the press. The idea is we link to the rpess stories (and create our own) then provide our views.
On Diarra, if the press are to be believed (and wuite often they're not) we could be seeing Viera in the red shirt next season. I'm still undecided about this one. What are your thoughts?

Well, we know Vieira's signed for Inter. He would've been great on the pitch, no doubt, yet a little awkward for us fans.
A little more info on Diarra: he and Essien were the heart of that Lyon side that made things so difficult for us in the CL. To be honest, we missed out on Essien, he's done great things for Chelsea and Ghana. Diarra is younger then Senna. We follow La Liga here like crazy, so I've seen Senna play. He's class, but past his prime, and used to a much slower league. La Liga is full of veterans now, a la Cannavaro, Thuram. Whenever I speak ill of a potential new signing, I always want to be proven wrong!
Diarra is quick, good on the ball and off it, and tireless. Just what we need; if only he had more Premiership experience. But did Essien? Does Zokora? (I believe he will also make a major impact)
Well, Real Mardid and AC Milan have made public their interest in Diarra. They are also top clubs, who BOTH offer CL football, trophies, cash, and the chance to play with top quality players. We cannot afford to keep missing out on quality signings (Ronaldinho, Ballack, Essien, etc); I would hate to see Diarra and/or Fernando Torres on that list, but the latter is another story. I'll try to keep my comments shorter next time, but it's great to wrie these things down. Thanks.
