What are your thoughts on a Ruud Hargreaves swap deal?

As we all know by now Bayern are very interested in Ruud Van Nistelrooy and are said to be close to a deal. They have reportedly agreed personal terms with the player and are only £3 million away from United's asking price.

However instead of a straight cash deal why don't we take Hargreaves in a part exchange deal? We are distinctly lacking in the midfield area and with Hargreaves having a great world cup he could well fill the well known "Keane Void". He plays in the holding midfield for Bayern and would be required in a similar position at United. I personally would have no problem in seeing Ruud go and Hargreaves come as a replacement.

Another benefit that Hargreaves would bring would be the opportunity to allow Scholes and Rooney to roam forward. We all know Scholes and Rooney are at their best when on the counter attack or at the very least playing their football in the oppositions half, so having a player that is content to sit back and do the defensive stuff would do wonders for the dynamic of the team.

I think all Man Utd fans know that we need to sign midfielders if we are to be successful in our next campaign. I'm sorry but John O'shea and Darren Fletcher just don't cut the mustard!!
