Man Utd news update

Fergie has come out to the press and declared that he is interested in signing the international midfielder. This reminds me of football manager so much it’s funny. A player becomes unsettled then a manager declares his intentions to the press to help fuel the speculation, brilliant. Somehow I can’t see Munich holding out for much longer with United willing to table a sizeable bid for the player, but we shall see.

Other news is that Carlos Tevez’s agent has declared that the Corinthian player feels that it is time to move on by issuing a “come and get me” statement to European clubs. Manchester United have been at the forefront in their admiration for the player, but with the possible signing of Hargreaves, can United stretch their budget to purchase both players? I know we have done this topic to death, but now we have a realistic chance of signing either, which one would you sign and why? (Assume you can only have one of them). My choice, quite reluctantly would be Hargreaves. We still lack the grit in midfield and desperately need a ball winner in the middle of the park. I can’t belive I’m saying this… how good would Tevez be at old Trafford? Glazers dig deep and sign both please.

On another note, Wayne Rooney has been passed fit for Sunday’s game. Injuries include Heinze (knee), Vidic (knee) and Carrick (angle ligaments). Anyone going? I’m in East stand 333!

One last thing. There is a new ticketing system available to United one members and season ticket holders. It’s called Viagogo and it allows season ticket holders to sell any tickets that they can’t attend. One United members can purchase the tickets and it’s a really good way of getting rid of the touts. I had a go on it today and it is really helpful. I managed to pick up 2 tickets for the Tottenham game in the quadrants for £35 a ticket, (face value). That’s amazing considering the game is already sold out. You can check out Viagogo here

SAF has made a good move. Hargreaves now knows that the manager of the club that he dreams of wants him too. SAF has also sent out a message to Bayern Munich by saying that as United are interested, and the player wants to come, then there isnt much that Munich can do to stop him. It would give the German club bac publicity by keeping a player against his wishes.
Good move SAF!
As for Tevez, this has been going on too long. First he says he wants to leave because he fears for his safety. Then his agent says that no clubs have made any interest in the player, and that Tevez now wants to stay on at Corinthians. Now the agent has said his client wants to move! Make up your mind!
Personally, i dont think that Tevez would be the striker signing that we are looking for now that Ruud has gone. But then again, i wouldnt mind him coming for a bargain price!

I would go for Hargreaves before Tevez as I think we have been lacking more in midfield than attack in the last two seasons.

Carrick / Hargreaves will hopefully be a great midfield foundation for many years to come.

I think if the Glaziers can find the extra few million quid we should also go for Tevez.

I know a lot of fans have been bemoaning the lack of signings but I actually think that by leaving it until just before the season kicks off a couple of big name signings will have a massive psychological boost to the team and also play on the minds of Chelsea/Liverpool.

alright folks,

Now that is a tough choice, but right now i feel Hargreaves is on top of his game, we need a DMC, it would double the value of carrick - he would have greater security and freedom to concentrate on distribution. I'm starting to feel however that United does have a decent size budget and can afford both players, however Tevez is not any easy person by all accounts, and im not too sure what Fergie's assessment is of him. Anyhow, next week will reveal all i assume, a week i want have bloody net access. Anyhow, maybe a deal will be done sometime today. I feel something similar to Carrick, 13/14M rising to 17/18M with CL and Prem apperances etc.
I wouldnt be too surprised if Fergie goes in for Michael Owen in Jan for say 8 to 10 mil, get him while he is injured for next season. Then just imagine that, Owen, Rooney, Saha, Ronaldo, Carrick, Hargreaves, Park....not too shabby.
We are going to get more revenue, like arsenal with the bigger stadium, and hopefully a decent run in the CL, things will look brighter and brighter, a nice red.
Anyhow im ramblings and talking shit, so ill wrap it up and say psykick? psykick? what the hell is a psykick?

i think it's abundantly clear that hargreaves is a much more reliable 13million plus signing than tevez. we've already got silky (ronaldo) and game-altering (rooney) but the black hole that keano left has to be filled.

I hope you all enjoyed the match. I know you were there agent, see many empty seats? In anycase 75,000 is awesome.

What a fantastic start to the season. Hopefully the players can use the confidence from this result to keep winning without Rooney and Scholes.

Also, Hargreaves was dropped by Bayern today. Obviously he's made it clear he wants to go. It seems more likely now that he will be sold, take Ashley Cole as an example, who was also dropped. Looks like we may get our man.
