Tevez and Mascherano to Man Utd and Keane as Sunderland Manager

Good morning all. With less than 48 hours remaining in the transfer market there is yet more debate in the papers of who we will be signing. I know this gets a little tedious at times, but we only have 2 days of it left and then we can concentrate on the football. With the transfer window closing I wonder what an earth I am going to talk about…. Well at least we have the champion’s league, the premiership, the FA cup and the Carling cup to discuss week in week out.

Those of you who read my blog regularly will know that I don’t often get frustrated with Manchester United, I am ever the optimist. I think it is really important to get behind your team whatever the circumstances. But as the transfer market draws to a close I feel an incredible sense of frustration. I don’t think this is anyone’s fault; quite simply we have had no luck at all. Most of our enquiries have lead to dead ends. Clubs do not want to play ball and it has left us scrambling to bring the players we need in at the last minute.

The story that annoys me the most is the news that Carlos Tevez is close to a deal with Arsenal. If he moves to the Gunners I will be most disappointed. We have been interested in him all summer and then Arsenal come in and steals him from under our noses. Some people have said that he is too similar to Rooney, but let me ask you this question…. Would you like 2 Wayne Rooney’s in your team? That’s a Rhetorical question!

Tevez is a class act and would work well on either wings or up front. He has pace and the skill to slip past defenders and create space and opportunities. He is creative and a clinical finisher. He is young and would have time to adapt to the English game. Please Fergie do this deal for the good of United.

In other news and I am really excited about this one as you can all imagine. The one, the only young supremo that is Mascherano has gone awol. That IS a shame for Corinthians. Well that’s what the press say. What actually happened is he missed one training session amidst a row over him playing for his country in Saturday’s game against Brazil even though he is suspended from domestic competition. I would hardly call it awol, but perhaps there is a window of opportunity for us to swoop in for a last minute deal? Supposedly agents are in London negotiating with Corinthians main financial backers about possible moves.

So the big question is which one out of two should we concentrate on? I know it’s all probably hot air, but let’s make the most of it before the window closes. Without sounding too much like Chelsea here, the fact that Arsenal are in for Tevez makes the decision all the more difficult. Do we go for Tevez in an attempt to prevent our premiership rivals from capturing him? Or do we fill the hole in midfield and concentrate on acquiring Mascherano. If Arsenal weren’t in for Tevez I would say go for Mascherano straight away, we need to fill that midfield with quality, but now I’m not sure….Help!!

Keane is now the Sunderland manager and I for one want to wish him all the best in his new career. Is he to be the next Man Utd manager? Time will tell but I have absolutely no doubt in my mind for a single nano-second that he is going to be one of the greatest managers of all time. A good bet would be for Sunderland to get promotion. Why am I so confident of Keane? It’s there for all to see. He has worked under Brian Clough, Alex Ferguson and Gordon Strachan. These are all class managers, the first 2 arguably the finest the world has ever seen. Keane expects 200% from himself and his team-mates and with him at the helm I would challenge any player to go against that mentality. He is a winner and will not stop until he is the best and has it all. He is a character that maintains that professional edge. He doesn’t socialise with the players, instead he distances himself to prevent anyone becoming too complacent with him. He is remarkable and Sunderland is now my second team!

Well I think I have said enough now, so over to you. Please let me know what you think on the transfer saga and on Keane becoming Sunderland manager. One last thing, how is that Tottenham have managed a triple swoop of players at the end of the transfer window and we struggle to get one? My thought is that we go for out and out class and we know that no team wants to let their crown Jewels leave!

Dont listen to the sun they get so many things wrong like we were going to sign Owen Hargreaves that day. Until we hear Wenger or Tevez say he's going to arsenal we should pay no notice and anyway Arsenal cannot afford tevez end of story.

As for Mascherano or Tevez I'd go for Mascherano.

Good Morning Agent.

Firstly, Roy Keane. He should eventually become one of the greatest managers ever and whether it's five years or ten he has got to become a future manager of ManU. He's just a winner and he'll expect no less from his players.

SUMMER SIGNINGS
There's no point crying over spilt milk so bollocks to Bayern and hopefully something can be pulled out of the hat today because if it isn't I think we will eventually fall short this season. We need both a forward and a defensive midfielder. Tevez and Mascharano would be a fucking dream come true but can anyone really expect it to happen? They both need to be on a plane NOW in order to have a medical before the deadline on Thursday, same applies to Trezuget even if Juve let him go and he can get away from the French camp whom I believe he is with at the minute.

If Arsenal are trying to sign Tevez we have got to outbid them no matter what, fuck it, it will only be an extra couple of million and we desperately need him to bolster the attack, I'd rather have him than Trezuget who has never struck me as that good either playing for France or Juventus.

Mascharano was absolutely outstanding during the world cup and would be at least as good as Hargreaves but I can't see it happening.

With Abramovich apparently linked to the London based company with financial links to Corinthians Chelsea will be involved in this somewhere and we will probably end up with neither player.

At this rate nobody is going to get signed and the Glaziers can use the budget they sat aside for new players to pay off a bit more of the interest on the loans the club is saddled with.

Morning Radio... it's an astute point you make about paying off the debt, but I think we need players to compete. I would love to see the younger players shine this season however so it's a question of just taking that plunge. As for Trezuguet I am struggling to see where he would fit in. We have at least 3 strikers who are better than him, so why waste £10 million on a distictly average forward. Spend more cash on Tevez who is quicker and more skilful. I think both Mascherano and Tevez are in the UK at the moment preparing for the friendly at the weekend. Perhaps that's why Mascherano missed training? It's a shame Concorde is no longer in service!

Hi man-utd agent,
I disagree with you that we should buy Tevez only to prevent him from going to another club. We are not Chelski and we don't behave like that. We are a way bigger club and we have our traditions and self respect. But of course i'd like to see both Mascherano and Tevez at OT. Still i think we must mainly concentrate on Mascherano.

Thanks Agent, I was just being sarcastic about paying off the debt as I'm so fucking fustrated by the lack of signings. I'm sure even the Glaziers have expected some transfer action this summer.

I had forgotten about the Agentina v Brazil game in London so thats a good point you make about the players concerned already being in the country. I just hope something actually materialises.

I must admit that personally I have never really rated Trezuget but if he did come I assume he would be used as a front man with Rooney playing off him, a bit like RVN but quicker.

Agent said...

Hi Wat Wat I agree with you that we shouldn't buy players just because other teams want them. But look at Rooney, the only reason that we went for him at the time we did was because Newcastle wanted him. I hope you'll agree that this was one of the shrewdest moves by Fergie? Tevez I feel would be great for the club and should act now for fear of him moving somewhere else. But we probably aren't chasing him anyway.

Agent said...

Hi Radio, I think that's why I dont see Trezuguet as a decent signing. We are trying to steer away from a front man like Ruud and it seems to mean we play much more attractive attacking football. We no longer rely on 1 player for goals which means we have many more options when going forward. It is more of a samba style if you will with players interchanging their positions a t will. This requires a great deal of understanding between the players, but it is deadly when it works, as demonstrated against Fulham. Teams simply cannot play against it.

Agent I would agree entirely that we are better without the one main attacking point and that we are more effective when players interchange their positions and that's why the Trezuget bid is a bit baffling. When we play with only one forward it becomes very easy for the opposing defence to mark that person and it actualy frees up their full backs to take a more advanced role.

Tevez, Rooney and Saha all running at defenders would be an absolute joy. Having said that could we actually play all three at the same time?

Agent said...

I think most definately. Tevez can play wide right and left as well as straight through the centre. People who say that he is almost identical to Rooney are spot on. We could have Saha playing up front with Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez playing behind, with all three interchanging when necesary. For example when there is a break on all four counter attack, with Saha furthest forward. Sometimes Saha would drop deeper and allow either Rooney or Tevez to lead the attack. The possibilities are endless, it's all about the interchanging samba style football where static positions are not necesary. I would say that attacking prowess would be the best in the world, I cannot think of anything better. Thinking about it I'm tempted to say forget Mascherano (shock horror) and go for Tevez. We should play like the Brazillians... your score 1 and we'll score 2!!!!

Roy Keane is a great manager... I’d dream to have him plus Solskjaer as our managers come 2011.
As for the new signings, I still don't know or I am not sure whether these two lads from a great footballing country will cope in the UK. Can someone talk about or explain this thing with South Americans when they come to Britain. Something like culture shock!! Don't mention Heinze for he is more of an Italian. The guy was brought up in Italy. If we must buy any of the lads, let us buy both (Mascherano & Tevez) so that they can comfort each other and end up surviving in the UK with nothing like culture shock will happen to them. In this case I think we should add Requelme to the list and then we shall have a team of four argentines.
It is true Tevez is more like Rooney. They will be the best of pals I guess. Riquleme will coin some great friendship with Scholesy. But all in all should we loan Rossi, Richardson, Miller and Fletcher once we buy these? I yes but to a great club like Celtic or even Roy Keane’s Sunderland

As long as it's not the Brazilians that showed up at the last World Cup in Germany. They were fucking sloppy, lazy and crap. Now there's a team Roy Keane could take to task!

Still think Mascherano would be great as well, but that's too good to be true.

Anyway we'll all know within the next few hours just exactly we we are going to sign, if anybody.

i think we all need a bit of a reality check here....no new players will be joinng us before tomorrow's deadline....fergie should have had a plan c after plan a hargreaves and plan b senna failed....
if there is a small possibility that something can be done, it would be premiership talent ie reo-coker & jermaine defoe....
hopefully something will happen but i very much doubt it..

The reality check can wait until tomorrow, today we can still dream. Bring on Tevez and Mascherano.

Yerman......Love it!

Senna should have been bought no matter what the situation was with Hargreaves. He was strung out for too long and eventually must have got pissed off and I don't blame him. if we don't buy before the deadline then the reality check is that we will not regain the Premiership. We've had a great start but I can't see us really competing without reinforcements, especially once Chelsea realise their own midfield is not properly balanced and make the required alterations (they look ill at ease with Makelele, Ballack, Lampard and Essien in midfield. It needs to be Makelele or Essien)

Agent said...

I heard Villereal wanted £8 million for Senna. If that is the case then we are best off without him. If it was closer to £4 million then I agree that we should have gone for him whatever the Hargreaves situation

dream on boyz....you got to be realistic....i hope im wrong but we aint signing anyone. personally i hope we snap up reo-coker, noway is mascherano or tevez coming, but like i sed i hope im wrong.

Yeah £8 million would have been far too much for a 30 year old that's nearly 3 Phil Neville's!

Agent said...

There is no place for Realism in football. It plays on emotions, it favours those who dare to dream. That is why the sun, mirror and star print all this rubbish. But who cares if it never happens... It doesnt stop us from dreaming and hoping.... You never know we might wake up tommorrow and have 2 argies joining us!!

Agent said...

United14 You are spot on there. Smith was quality up front and I can't wait to see him back in his natural position. I think he will be quality and provide another dimension. He is the typical British striker!!!

Anonymous said...

The Mirror, the Sun etc we all know their bollocks but if we just stick to the broadsheets - The Guardian, Independent,Telegraph we just get what has happened, not what might be happening. At this point in the season we need the dream. As I said previously, tomorrow (once the deadline passes) we will have to make do with reality and we can start to dissect the form of the team game by game.

Agents right, football is all about dreams and aspiring to achieve them. Fuck reality and fuck Chelsea because come tomorrow we'll probably have a shit load of both!

there is one more day left, and both of these players are in brazil. Mascherano should have been made a proper target early in the summer, because we will find it really hard to sign him now.

I'm sure you're all nicely tucked up in bed, so this will no doubt be debated tomorrow.

Rossi has gone to Newcastle on loan. This can mean two things:

1) he's gone for experience. I read that he really wanted the experience so he may have pushed for it.
http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=413238&CPID=8&clid=1&lid=2&title=MAGPIES+IN+SHOCK+ROSSI+SWOOP

2) we have a new striker coming in tomorrow and fergie knew chances would be limited for rossi so it was a good opportunity to ship him out and get some prem experience. A win win situation providing the old toon injury jinx does not hit young rossi.

My advice Guiseppi, stay away from Kieron Dyer!

Anyway, all will be revealed tomorrow.

Fingers crossed.
