Champions League draw

Hi there everyone. First off apologies for not posting this morning or approving your comments until now, I have had no internet access and even now it is ropey at best. For that reason I will have to do a short article today to make sure that i get it published.

The main talking point is the champions league draw. We seem to have done very well and have a group that we should progress through with ease. Having said that we would have though of much last year but football is a funny old game and who knows what can happen.

Chelsea have landed Barcelona again. anyone would think that those 2 clubs are married. I can't wait to watch Mourinho and Reijkard get there handbags out on the touchline. Wouldn't it be funny if they went out in the group stages?

Going forward this season, I think we have the potential to go far in the champions league and in the premiership. I feel so much more confident this season and just have the feeling that something special will happen this season.

What do you think about the draw? Did we do well and how do you think we will get on? What team do you think we will pick tomorrow against Watford? And what do you think the score will be? I'm going for another 3-0 win to Utd.

Manchester United will meet Celtic in Group F with Benfica and FC Copenhagen

First of all - the Watford match.

This should really be a good one. We'll get to see the youngest vs the oldest manager. Watford will be out to impress and may pose some problems. Lets hope this doesnt go the Sheff Utd on 'Pool way.

Wondering if Carrick will start or do a cameo like the Addicks match.

Prediction - 2:1

Champs League
We have to get off to a flier in the Champs League like in the Premiership.
Should easily go through but keeping last year's performance in the bakc of my mind, I want to wait and watch the first two matches before getting any comfortable feeling.

Though nearly impossible, I'd like to see Barca and Bremen go thru from Chelsea's group .. :D :D

i think we have a really good shot at going far in the champs league this year. sir alex has worked really hard to get this team to work as a team and i think dumping ruud will prove a masterstroke - i hope i don't eat my words - clearly saha is on fine form, relishing the role he now has and he obviously gets on with his teammates which is a major difference!

the draw: not so easy. spanish/portuguese teams seem to give us trouble. i think they play a good quick game but not direct like in england. their skill on the ball makes it really hard to gain possession (once lost) and control a match. but i think we will have learned a lot from last season and i see us coming away from lisbon with a 1-0 win.

shame that keano's not at celtic. that would have been fantastic for him to play against utd. oh well, it's off to sunderland to train for the future role of manager at old trafford.

3 down. 9 points. tottenham looking weak. this is really our chance to make a statement to the rest of the contenders.

Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna claims Manchester United's sponsors denied him a move to the Premiership giants.

The 30-year-old was expected to join the Old Trafford club earlier in the summer before the move stalled.

The Spanish outfit slammed United for failing to conclude a deal quickly and Senna has now revealed the reasons why they went cold on him.

Senna says Sir Alex Ferguson was handed orders from the club's new sponsors AIG to only buy English talent and therefore made their move for Bayern Munich's Owen Hargreaves instead.

"It went very quiet, then Mr Ferguson's assistant Carlos Queiroz told my agent he was sorry but they had orders from above," Senna said in the News of the World.

"Queiroz said the sponsor preferred English players and although they wanted me, they would have to wait.

"But they never called me back."
