Which would you prefer? Senna and a Striker, or just Hargreaves? This is the dilemma facing Ferguson this week. Although it seems as though the deal has been done for Senna, Fergie is holding off though to see if he can get either Hargreaves or Diarra. If he gets either of these players there will be no cash left for a striker. The question is, which would be better for the team?
This article in Sky sports perhaps suggests that Fegie believes Saha can fill the void of Ruud Van Nistelrooy, clearly stating that he believes the Frenchman can get 20 goals plus a season no problem. Whilst I am going to wait and see on this one there is no doubt that Saha is a wonderful talent and will do very well with a regular starting position in the first team. I think the emphasis will be much more on team goals, with Scholes, Rooney and Giggs increasing their season’s Talley this time around.
So If Ferguson is happy with Saha, does this mean he will spend big in the midfield and opt for a younger option in midfield. If so the likely outcome would be a bid for either Hargreaves or Diarra. Both would be considerably more expensive that Senna, but would provide a more permanent solution for the centre of midfield. What do you think? A more expensive midfielder at the expense of a striker, or a cheaper midfielder and a striker? As always over to you.

Either way i'd be pretty happy, however my preference would be for a younger midfielder. However, i have the utmost respect for Senna, i was very impressed with his displays for Villareal over the past two seasons in La Liga and UCL. I think the best scenario would be to get Senna plus another DMC, we would rock in midfield then.
As i posted before regarding our present strike force, i really don't see much to worry about, in Rooney and Ronaldo we have two of the greatest talents in the world. I really don't see us lacking creativity. With Saha's pace and Smith determination we cover pretty much every attacking formulae.
To be honest, we finished second with Gabi injured for many months, an injured Smith and Saha during various parts of the season, a very suspect midfield, coupled with Ronaldo getting to grips with his personal situation. It seems evident during the world cup bar his suspect antics, he really showed some class, and during the pre season fixtures he is creating and scoring goals. I would prefer just one big signing every couple of years, and then search the world for world class youth. Pick them up sub 10m either get them to stay or if they leave for Latinesque country, get some huge shekels.
And you can guarantee that every couple of years the academy will throw a couple of names that have the potential to warrant a regular first team spot. Anyhow, keep well folks

If we only get Diarra i would be the happiest person in the world. He's the best for the job so why do not have the best for 7-8 years? I strongly believe that big victories come from within the midfield so that should be our priority. We don't need another striker so much ( of course i would mind if we could get someone like Tevez).

Can we afford Diarra? If we get 7 years out of him, surely we can find the funds. I think spend big in midfield and get a new striker next season. We have 5 class acts up front!!

From what I hear Senna is just what we need. Someone with no attacking pretensions, who will just "sit and hold", allowing Scholes and Carrick to express themselves.
I think Real will beat us to Diarra, which is a shame, as I rate him.Which leaves Hargreaves. I was in Germany to see him run his socks off vs Portugal. He was impressive. Although I find it hard to understand how he can go from being a figure of fun to United quality on the basis on one performance.
Granted, he was finally played in his preferred position, and he does well there for Bayern. But - he distribution is questionable at times.
And I am a sucker for a striker. Would love Torres. Doubt it will happen but I think we should try all we can to poach him.
I'm pretty sure we can. We didn't spend much this summer or almost nothing thank's to departures of Ruud and Obi which is about 16m, we only paid 14m for Carrick, so we have + 2m to our summer funds. Now there's no one better than Mascherano and Diarra (i still rate him better than Mash). Mascherano deal is unlikely to happen and as Makelele is already 34 who do you think Chelski will go after next year huh? I don't think they'll go after the likes of Muntari or etc. I honestly don't see us outbiding Chelski. So Diarra is the main option and i'm praying to get him.
This is true. I have before that Abromovich owns the company that sponsors Corinthians, so 3 guesses where Mascherano and Tevez are heading within the next 2 years? Having said that, they may not entertain the prospect of warming the bench week in week out and opt for a club with a rich cultured history and a prospect of playing regularly.

the actual connection with Abramovich and his connection with MSI (or MSG but im pretty sure thats a harmful food additive as opposed to a harmful footie additive) is not wholly clear. It is claimed that he has a small share in the company and fronted the money to sign both Carlito and Mascherano. However his actual control of any further deals are totally dependent on release clauses in the contract. However, i get the feeling that one will go to Stamford Bridge, the other well he could well see him in red....hopefully our red.
